yes, you can!
and i am going to teach you to fish, as it were...
you see, a LOT of people have contacted me in the past month or so about a working up a little dress pattern. even going so far as to offer me money, whoah. and thanks, really! but in all good conscience, i cannot sell you a pattern because it is not my pattern to sell - you know what i mean? as i said earlier, i made this dress based on a fabulous little number we got from kinchi last year (and if you don't sew, i highly recommend heading over there right now to get some kinchi for your little girly!).
faced with a few new baby girlys in our world, i simply took what i learned from having made that dress and came up with a pattern for a newborn dress. and that's when the emails started coming in. but as i said, it would not be right to sell my simple pattern or even make dresses to sell.
but it seems fair that i can teach you what i have learned.
in this tutorial, i'll demonstrate how to take an existing item of clothing and use it to create a sweet little dress for the girlys in your world. 20 full color images walk you through every step from making your own custom pattern pieces to the final stitches. and it's not that complicated, appropriate for the advanced beginner sewer - just take your time.

if i do say so myself, a Girly Dress and a few Bibs make a lovely shower gift. when you are done, please add images of your Girly Dresses to the flickr group for JCasa tutorials + patterns. and enjoy! xoxo
Oh thank you!! Sweet. I have a few new babes to sew for...this will be great.

Thank you for sharing the wonderful tutorial. A couple weeks ago, I found a similar pattern at our local store. I made a simple dress, but surely the girly dress is better and cute! I took some idea and modified on the pattern I got. I hope to show you my dress too. ^____^ ( I am very know for blogging)
Thanks again~
