go ahead, make yourself a handstitched patchwork wreath - it is totally cozy, totally understated, and totally says "hello, Fall."
made using a few simple items :: fabric + thread + love.

i made a few of these for sale last fall and am starting to think we need a few of our own around here. immediately, in fact - they really make me feel autumn, you know?
and if you are interested but haven't the materials on hand, hop on over to and check out the kits available in the shop. i am so fond of recycling/repurposing materials like this - originally clothing and feedsacks, and then having remaining useful bits worked into a quilt top only to be abandoned in a dusty chest of drawers out in the countryside for decades until sweet serendipity introduced us a while back. it's exciting to revive these gems, allowing them to transcend the restrictions of wear and tear that time has put upon them.
that's what it's all about - pretty things made from pretty old things. enjoy! xoxo
That IS cozy! So sweet too! I'll be linking to this project!

I really really love this wreath! It looks easy to make, and the possibilities to customize this for seasons and holidays are endless. Thanks for sharing!

That looks wonderful! I love it.... sadly my apartment complex just painted our doors and will seriously be unhappy if I put a nail in the door. Hmmm... I might still have to!

We had a wreath that looked a lot like this when I was small. I loved it. I'm sure it's still in my mom's attic somewhere, but I suspect it's dusty and coming apart at the seams.
But this photo brings back a lot of memories so thank you for that.
