the girls and i have returned from a week away that was filled with sunshine, grandparent-time, longhand book-finishing, shrimp and grits, and plenty of rest. i now find myself back in the studio with eyes forward and as focused as is possible. and as i look around, i am finding inspiration everywhere. even the familiar can be ever so lovely, especially with an intentional blur in the afternoon light.

c. liberty folder containing the manuscript for my second book (more on that many months from now). 'tis the final week of proofreading and sample-making!
