i enjoy making things by hand and find inspiration in everyday life. i knit, sew, cook, craft with my kiddos, design, write, make music with my husband, snap lots of pictures - and write about all that good stuff.
i am constantly inspired by our children, as is reflected in my designs. i truly enjoy the creative process, and love working in my small home studio designing original sewing, knitting and craft projects. my work is regularly featured in print and online publications, connecting me with fellow mamas + makers across the globe. for that i am so very grateful.
my first book, Teach Yourself Visually Crafting with Kids (Wiley 2011), is filled with 75 fun arts + craft projects as well as my sincere hope that it both entertains and inspires others to make art + craft time a regular part of your daily lives with your children. my current work includes sewing and knitting commissions, working on another book, plus releasing a new album with my band mild mannered.
i believe in positive thinking, playing fair, being kind, getting up when i trip and fall, learning from life's hiccups, and enjoying every speck of life while it lasts. and i write about all of those things.
