after years of saving - in both the monetary as well as the design inspiration senses - we are closing in on the reality of our kitchen renovation. truth be told, i nearly cried when i heard the estimate of how long it would take. but good things take time, as we well know. and it's not as though we haven't lived with our hot mess of a kitchen for 11 years already.
you can see more of my expanding kitchen makeover 2012 board on pinterest if you like. it's only a smattering, but Pinterest has definitely been a wonderful resource as i've come across bits and pieces here and there that i want to remember - in addition to the pages upon pages i've ripped from magazines - allowing me to communicate in very visual terms our ideal layout, cabinet fronts, pulls, flooring, barn door hardware, and so much more. and it's especially helpful when the hub needs a little help envisioning what the room will look like without a wall. so yeah, this won't be done overnight. but if we play our cards right, it might be done before the holidays.
have you redone your kitchen? or even built your own from the ground up? what has helped you get through the upheaval of construction? did you move out or live with it? i've been told by many that the path to a dream kitchen involves take-out and peanut butter + jelly sandwiches. what has been your experience? i'd love to hear! xoxo
