a few months ago i was contacted by the nice folks at Disney / FamilyFun magazine (exciting!) asking me to design a very special "Start a New Tradition" piece to be featured in the Dec/Jan issue as a part of their Badges of Fun series. and since i saw the issue at the market this week, i can finally share it with you!
apparently, they really liked the style of my patchwork wreaths, so i used them as inspiration to create a hand-sewn stuffed heart made of vintage patchwork, then embroidered the year to make it an extra special keepsake. gotta say, i love it.
and...
while i was working on this project, i thought it would be neighborly to provide a printable + instructions so readers like you can make your own patchwork ornament, too.
