we made those cookies again. six dozen, in fact. the delicious, cake-like sour cream cookies that are not overly sweet which is appropriate considering the ratio of frosting to cookie should be about 1:1. and indeed, it was. all for the kindergarteners.
when i saw the burger-sized cookie cutters that were sent home to me, i estimated that three batches of dough would be needed. but, as luck would have it, one batch of dough remains in our fridge. you know, for cookie emergencies.
for the record, those cookies are magnificent when eaten plain + simple, no frosting whatsoever. not that i have anything against frosting. my hips don't lie. (and yes, i just inadvertently quoted shakira. i have no explanation for that one.) but i digress... a test of a truly good cookie is how it tastes unadorned, and these are ace in my book. especially good with coffee. morning, noon or night. go make some. and store an extra batch of dough in the fridge, while you're at it. you'll thank me later. xoxo
