i was thrilled to see that she and her eldest daughter had recently made a few patchwork lanterns from my book - it is one of my favorite projects in there. such a great way to use up fabric scraps (which are plentiful around here), and a nice relaxing project to do with your kids. in fact, the girls and i are planning to make some a few more to add to our collection this summer using gigantic balloons.
