a kind request has brought me back to where it all started + i am once again finding my center in making pretty things from pretty old things.
a few months back, a long-time and most lovely customer contacted me to make her some more of these coasters for her summertime table. she was so very understanding that i was in the thick of writing books, and so we set our sites on after the many deadlines had passed. and i am so very happy we did.
this past week, i was able to spend a bit of time each day losing myself in a one of my favorite simple sewing projects - mending tattered bits of vintage patchwork and breathing new life into the amazing handwork of generations past, so that each bit of fabric is somehow magnified and celebrated once again.
