recently, one of my neighbors and i were talking about music. her daughter is quite gifted at the piano and she was interested to know how i developed such a love for and free spirit with music. in some respects my parents are to blame. whenever i came home from school saying i wanted to learn the flute/bass/trumpet/saxophone... they encouraged it. and while most of those experiments were short-lived, i was always given the option to try things out and find my way. it was never a competition for me. thanks, mom + dad.
it is only logical that i bought my first guitar at 24 and schlepped it across Europe with me. and that i joined my first band at 26. and that i met my husband at the practice spot. and that to this very day, music plays a significant role in my life. in our lives.
