well, apparently i have quite the thank you note to write mickie - you guys are awesome! i can assure you that she will be tickled to hear that so many people are loving homemade yogurt. so easy and delicious, right? i would encourage any of you who are going to make it to have a good read through the comments on that post, because they are full of terrific suggestions and alternate approaches to making yogurt including crock pots and ice coolers and ovens and heating pads, oh my. i will continue to respond in the comments and can confirm that i have officially switched from using paper towels on top (as per mickie) to draining it in a cheesecloth-lined sieve.
oh my goodness, indeed.
once again, i would like to say how awesome i think blogging is - not only am i given a platform to write about things i like such as knitting and sewing and crafting and cooking and making music, but all you awesome people who stop by and voice your support and contribute to the conversation bring a new dimension to my blog that i alone could not accomplish.
i mean it.
i've been thinking a lot about my near 5 year (wow!) blogging journey. it has brought such a lovely depth to our days and i am forever grateful for having found this way to gain perspective. i see the incredible directions many people have gone and am so happy to see people flourish in their own ways. when i write, i really am trying to remain true to myself, not trying to be or become someone or something i am not. sometimes it is a challenge considering the temptations and offers that come knocking, i confess. but this little space makes me happy just how it is. that i have been able to realize some of my dreams right here is such a great unexpected reward. and your visits and support and comments about yogurt and knitting and crafting and sewing and music and all the other really good things in life are the icing on the cupcake.
[unrelated: now i want a cupcake.]
so thanks. how about a few awesome things out there:
as much as i do not have free time right now to knit something for myself, i keep coming back to swoon at brioche - it's such a great design and that little belt is really just so... you know. and that wendy is so seemingly fabulous in many ways. i think brioche may officially on my growing short list (in the alternate universe where i have more time).
this domesticated skirt is so so supercute and i think i need one in my summer wardrobe. add that to the "find the time" list.
i really want to go to sweden and live here. but since that is not going to happen in the forseeable future, i'll settle on keeping red.house in my blogroll.
i am wildly excited to hear about kajsa's book - she was such a secret squirrel about the whole thing and i am so happy for her and really look forward to losing myself in those beautiful pages and projects.
that katherine marie is at it again - i mean really, check out those piggies! not only is she one of the most clever mama's i've ever come across, but she is an amazing photographer to boot.
and then there's summerlin - really? finding this little number in the midst of all my summer clothes making is stitching serendipity.
oh, and the pop tarts. killing me.
so tell me, what are you loving these days? (other than the yogurt.) hope you are enjoying your week, friends. xoxo
