upon completion of a project, there's usually a feeling of delight. an internal satisfaction that the piece is done, finished :: complete. admittedly, there are times when we're happy something is done, wiping our hands and conscience clean of the UFO factor, despite a lack of love for the finished piece. but more often than not, it is a rather good feeling, warming your heart and all. and occasionally, if you are lucky, there's the "wow". as in, wow - it turned out even better than i envisioned.
i think this quilt actually improved as it sat on the shelf for a few days waiting for the binding to be stitched as i ran with another idea immediately as it struck and a pocket of free time allowed. sure, there was the possibility that it could have become lost in the growing WIP pile - but honestly, it made me happy even in its unfinished state. it looked especially pretty just so.
thank goodness for a catering and jason bourne, i say. the hub worked a few jobs saturday, so after the little ones were fast asleep, i finally had a few solo hours to do the two things i'd been putting off for almost a week. there is a strong possibility that i may have even been procrastinating a bit in the knowledge that when i finished them both - the quilt and the dvd - that they would be over. done. and that there'd be a let down. have you ever had that?
well, i am happy to say there was no let down. the movie was great and the quilt... well, what can i say - i love it. and i love that it inspired two other projects. yay for that! let the good times roll on and on. xoxo
thanks to everyone who signed up for the scrap challenge - i am beyond thrilled with your response and enthusiasm. the flickr group is up for you to join us - and be sure to check your inbox tomorrow/tuesday throughout the day for the confirmation email.
