everyone is all about handmade gifts this season and i just love it. and whom better to shower with a handmade gift than the kiddos, right? here's a felt board project you can whip up in no time and which will most certainly provide countless hours of entertainment and imaginative play for the wee ones in your world ::
you see, about a month ago i went to on a preschool observation and came home inspired by a project the children were working on with felt. i looked high and low to find felt boards (am i the only person who remembers these?) - i wanted a sizeable space on which to create, but have the size of the canvas be the only limit during the creative process. my sad discovery when shopping teacher-craft-store-land was that the only felty things readily available nowadays are overloaded with commercialized images and product placement. um, no thanks.
and so, i decided to create something so basic and simple, something the kiddos can play with and freely manipulate while tapping into their creative minds. it's funny how even the simplest images are set in our adult minds, and how refreshing it is to see things from a new perspective ::
i hope you like the project and the little ones have a blast. the tutorial is over on the sidebar with the other patterns and such - have fun and happy crafting! xoxo
edited to add :: i just found a small felt board flickr group and joined - if any of you are interested, come join me and we can share our ideas for themes!
